Radial Drilling Services Inc. ("RDS") was started by Henk Jelsma in 2001. RDS is a Houston-based service company involved in the design, manufacturing, operating and servicing of its proprietary radial drilling technology for oil & gas rehabilitation and production optimization.
Mr. Jelsma's educational background and 28 years experience in the oil & gas industry in the areas of drilling and drilling technology, field exploration development and production, revitalization of oil fields and operations experience in remote and difficult areas led to the development of radial drilling technology. Radrial drilling offered a unique and cost effective solution to improve operational efficiencies and enhance production of oil wells with declining production.
This radical yet simple solution is changing the industry. Radial drilling is a fast method to rehabilitate and optimize wells using modified coiled tubing technology .50mm diameter lateral holes are drilled using high pressure fluid, up to 100m from the well bore. The process takes about 2-3 days per level and is proven to increase production several fold.
This successful technology has launched an entirely new oil and gas service industry. RDS is the leader in Radial Drilling and as a result has been rapidly growing throughout the world. RDS is the parent company of RadTech International Inc and Radcan Energy Services Inc. in Canada.
